Default Ibuprofen OK to Use with SSRIs?

Hello -

I have recently been experiencing pain in a very weak and sensitive back molar (the filling is still in the tooth, but it is a very fragile tooth and thus vulnerable, and occasionally gives me pain...) Usually, I am able to use 400 mg. of ibuprofen every four hours when this occurs, (I don't have a problem with this tooth often...maybe once every few years...) - but recently I read that ibuprofen is not good to take if you are also on an SSRI, which I am. I also have borderline high blood pressure, and I have read that ibuprofen can elevate blood pressure.

I was planning on cutting back to 200 mg. of ibuprofen every six hours, since the pain has subsided considerably in my tooth. Is it wise to continue with the ibuprofen, given that I am on an SSRI? I have also read that it can cause GI bleeding.

I would really appreciate any feedback about this.

Thank you,
Janet
