Default I need some help with Acyclovir

I was doing some research on some new medication that I received yesterday and it is called Acyclovir, it said that it is used to treat herpes, which I know for a fact that there is no way I can have that. I found out yesterday that I am beginning to have sever symptons of Bellspausy. I was wondering if any of ya'll out there would know anything about Acyclovir if it is used to treat Bellspausy and herpes, or just herpes. If any body knows anything I would greatly appreciate a response. Thank you in advance.

Today's Bible verse is: for it is written, "As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God." So then each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
(Romans 14:11-13 ESV)

Good night and God Bless all of ya'll.

Love in Christ

I use acyclovir for genital herpes, I have for 20 years as this is a chronic disease. What it does is prevent the virus fom multiplying. Bell's palsy can be caused by a virus attacking the nerves, among other causes. http://www.ninds.nih.gov/health_and_.../bells_doc.htm.

You have to be tested for herpes virus (a blood test). Your doctor should tell you why he is giving you this and not just give you medicine "just in case".

It appears that acyclovir can be used in the treatment of Bell's Palsy - usually in combination with Prednisone.

The following sites may help you with your research:

see ABSTRACTS: Bell's Palsy
Bells palsy treatment with acyclovir and prednisone compared with prednisone alone.
