Default Hypothyroid and cocunut oil

Can anyone tell me that if someone is taking synthroid for hypothyroidism, does using cocunut oil three times a day boost the metabolism too high or affect the medicine in some way??

coconut oil makes no diferance to your metabolism, getting your thyroxin dose right is the secret to getting your metabolism to normalise.

i have the same problem and i have tried and tested most things.

go back to your doctor and up your dose of thyroid treatment.

i have learned to know when its time to up my dose and as long as i inform my doctor i increase it 25mcg at a time and within a week or two i feel better but thyroids dont tend to settle on a prescribed dose for long, the slightest thing like stress or a virus can cause the tyroid to change again so go check with your doctor for a blood test and you might find by upping the dose your metabolism picks up a little.

i have auto-immune hypothyroidism,

i take levathroxine 125mcg.

when my thyroid level changes i instantly know because my immune system attacks me and make me very very ill, it might help you to search the net for more info on your condition to pin poin the exact type of hypothyroidism as there are more than a few kinds, when you locate your exact condition you will also know how to help yourelf best, you will get alot of info on diet, food, and other meds try it and see. go to the association for tyroid sufferers first it was good for me.

Everything happens for a reason.................

I've always heard that coconut oil was not good for the thyroid. I was dx'd with graves disease and went thru rai treatment. My question is this: my dr only does the tsh test and when i asked for the t3 and t4 test he says it is not needed.

What is your opinion of this? I've heard that to truly know if your throid is functioning correctly, you must have all three test done.
