I recently starting taking Wellbutrin to help stop smoking. Last week I broke out in a severe rash from head to toe and ended up in the e.r. - Is there anyone else who has had this same reaction. Thanks for the input

not from wellbutrin, but YES i did break out in hives from prozac once. It was mostly on my back and stomach area. Plus they itched really bad. Also metformin did it too. I think it just means you're allergic to that med, dont take it again, i have heard hives can mean something dangerous like having breathing probs if it gets worse.

I've not gotten hives from wellbutrin xl(which i took to quit smoking as well), but i got really bad hives from lisinopril. I ended up in the er also. I was told it means you're allergic and it could be doing damage to your heart.

BTW, i forgot to mention, you should wean yourself from this med rather than abruptly stopping.
