Default HELP! what next? pain help/medication. please read

hello.
As of right now, i have EXTREME stomach pains. its about 2 inches above my belleybutton, and for over 6 months the pain is so bad that i have horrible vomiting sessions in the AM when i wake up, along with sweats that drench my clothes(probably from vomiting but idont know). i have had stomach pain/problems my whole life, but it never got as bad as to be puking every morning. I have been seeking help for this, but nobody can figure out what it is. i have had a ton of blood tests, ultrasounds, barium drink xrays. and just had an Upper GI Endoscopy (camera down my throat into my stomach)which is done by the GI specialist i was referred to. all they saw on the scope test was a little irritated esophegus. SOOOO... life basicaly sucks. my doctor gave me Phenergan for nausea which has been helping a TON!!! i hardly puke in the morning anymore, and he started me on 5mg vicodine. the Phenergan is great, so he has me on that with refills and everything, but i have to keep calling the doctor everytime the pain meds run out. and i told him i was taking the vicodine alot, so he put me on 5mg percocet. which of coarse helps with the pain, but the pain is so bad some time i eat alot of them. again i remind you i miss work alot because of this, and sometimes cant even get out of bed from my stomach area hurting so bad.and had to go to the hospital for this pain last week. anyway, at my last visit, my doctor gave me a scrip of 10mg percocet. basically gave me 4/day. til the next time i would have to call him.the 1st of april. so these things are helping, but i would think i need something time release... ie. oxycontin. april 1st is the next time i can get more from him, but the soonest i can see my GI specialist is April 13th. should i ask for enough meds to last til that day of appointment??? with all these pain problems and tests and everyting , you would think i would have a diagnosis. but i dont. i ask my doctor about a pain management doctor, but he said you need to be diagnosed first. WHAT SOULD I DO?? i feel uncomfortable asking my doctor for stronger medication, and asking for enough to last til the specialist appt. and dont really know what to do here. everyone is saying my body seems fine, but this pain is too much, and without enough meds it gets even harder. and i know the doctor knows that. he can tell when i come in really hurting badly, in pain AND in health.
any ideas would be greatly apprciated

William

Please thouroughly explore the ups, and especially, the down sides of OxyContin you sound as if you have immense pain, there are ways to seek pain relief w/o turning to Oxy. Look into a Durasgic Fentanyl patch, that is very strong, may be stronger that OC,but you wear it as a patch, w/ time relase included. This may be better than popping a bunch of pills by the hour to help. Hey take this at face value,i only offer an opinion, I do believe that Oxycontin, has up sides for legitmate invividuals with intolerable pain. But, this has so many negative factors attached to it's name. G/L

Oxycontin is an extremely addictive drug and unless you are terminal I wouldn't sugest it to anyone.Percocet doesn't make sense when you have an upset and painful stomach, they are notorious for irrateing stomachs.M s contin would be a good choice (sustained release morphine).I know this may sound trivial but have you been checked for allergies??.......Dave

Oxycodone is the narcotic that's in oxycontin (sustained release oxycodone). The percocet 10's are ******** and don't last very long which is why I suggested ms contin......Dave

i have worked in medicine for 20 years.............get a 2nd opinion...........just because one didn't find something doesn't mean somebody else won't..........it wouldn't be the first time they have missed something in somebodys stomach.maybe they didn't look good enough.remember this is your life they're playing with
