Default HELP! Re. Generic Oxycontin

GREETINGS! My first post! Yes, this looks like an old subject and one that you all are tired of but I really need some help. I recently started on Oxycontin (just the 10's) 3xper day and the I.R.'s for breakthrough pain. I am concerned though about what I am hearing about the generic o.c. My pharmacy dispenses a product made by a pharma. company called Dava. I have found their web page and have i.d.'d the pill but my questions are...Has anyone used this one? If so..is it effective against pain? Can you compare it to brand name o.c.? I mean, I realize that very few generics are as effective as the brand name and my doc. will write my 'script so I can get the brand name but of course the cost will skyrocket! Is the generic even close to the brand? I'd like to save the $ but will spend the extra if the generic isn't even close. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance for your time... Dennis

Dava took over distribution from Impax Labs, it's there old product so it's not like it's a brand new generic.
I've had OC by Purdue, Teva and Endo and all worked the exact same for me. I once had my doctor check the do not sub box on the script and ended up paying a co-pay of $156 compared to $10. Don't waste your money on Purdue Frederick OC take Mrs. Goog out for lobster instead.

I have tried both generic and brand name forms of both O.C.(time released), I have found from personal experience that the brand name works best, (the generic upset my stomach more, and did not work as well, as in did not last as long, worse side effects). Of course insurance companies wnat u to go with the cheapest, but from personal experinace I would recomend, brand.
