Default Help! drug combination reactions?

Hi all,

Has anyone had any problems or side effects from the use of a Beta Blocker for high blood pressure (Atenolol) along with Klonopin and Tylenol? I think some of my symptoms come from either one of these meds or a combination reaction. I can't stop coughing, have stomach pain, abdominal pain, insomnia,
whole body neuopathy pain, acid reflux, etc.

I just know that I am having way too many strange symptoms that don't go along with my illness and have been looking into possibilities that my symptoms could be drug induced or be a result of a drug combination reaction.

Any feedback would really be appreciated.

Thank you,
Martha

Hi, Martha, I'm reading posts tonight as a new member. Yours caught my interest. For 3 years I endured totally unrelated symptoms of the everything, pain, neuralgia, myopathy, reflux, migraines. Every doctor treated something within his field, but not one ran the most underused test I know of, a simple TSH. I note that you're female.....if you're 35+ your odds just went up some more. My hypothyroidism was finally caught when my heart rate was at 40 bpm and my blood pressure 90/50. Please ask your doctor to run a TSH to check thyroid function, it sounds as if you might benefit from the test. Nothing to lose.....I hope anyone reading this, especially women will remember to ask for a TSH periodically, doctors just don't run them as often as they should. Hope you feel better.

Hi Bet,

It is good to hear from you.

If I have an overactive thyroid, would my neck be swollen? My recent blood tests did not show a problem. I have been coughing for 3 months non-stop now.

Also I am gaining weight like crazy since I have to eat all the time.
One side of withdrawal from Klonopin which I am doing is ravenous hunger. I will mention this to my doctor whom I see today though.

Your experience sounds VERY serious. I hope you are much better now.

Thanks much for replying to my post.
Martha
