Help on "Aldosterone"
I am a nursing student, and one of my instructors has assigned a drug I can find nothing about.(we have to make med cards for drugs pertaining to the unit we are covering, or a disease we are covering, or symptom, or..or..or..) Please don't think I am asking for someone to do my homework for me, (at this point I am not beneath it either!) I have search for information for 3 days now and can find nothing. The drug is "aldosterone" ! The pharmacist on the floor says to look at methyldopa, but it says nothing about acting as aldosterone. I know about aldosterone being a hormone, but that is not what she wants. Has ANYONE ever heard of a synthetic aldosterone? I found one, that is being worked on, but it is in no way close to being a prescribed drug.
Thanks for any help, -
It is a hormone closely related to kidney function and BP, and is not a drug prescribed.
