Hi there! I'm brand new to the drugs.com community. Thank you in advance for all the help =)

I'm a 23 year old female and I have battled with depression my whole life. At the beginning of last year I finally found a combination of treatment drugs that have been a great help to me. I'm on 262.5 mg of effexor for depression, 50 mg of elavil (sp?) for pain from fibromyalgia as well as 21 day alesse for birth control.

As of late I seem to be running "behind schedule" and suspect that I may be pregnant . I know that I should stop taking my alesse just in case but the other medication I'm on is dangerous to stop taking abruptly (especially the effexor since it is at such a high dose).

I realize this is an issue for a doctor to address but it's Sunday and I'm inpatient and anxious and need to do something...any advice would be appreciated.....Thank you...

You're right. It is a situation that you need to discuss with your doc. If you're THAT impatient, you can always try calling a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist what he thinks you should do; although I'm fairly certain he/she will tell you to just wait and talk with the doc tomorrow.
