Default Hello all new here and I have some issues.

Let me start by saying "hello" I am a 6 month reader and first time poster.

I have been out of work due to a violent incident. I am a Corrections officer and suffered a lower back injury in October of 2004. L4/L5 L5/S1 are both out and touching the nerve. With this I have moderate to severe leg and foot pain. I have been taking 2 to 4 (usually 2) Percocet 7.5/500 now for 6 months. I have been screened twice now for this by my doctor to monitor the use. I have come back Negitive, YES NEGITIVE for any trace of this in my urine. Now the doctor wants to stop giving me the perscription and switch me over to Methadone and continue to screen me.

My question how the heck does this come back negitive?

I am 5'11 and weight 235 lbs. I take 1 pill at 6am and the other at 1 pm. I take 3 800 Ibuprofens the rest of the day. I can not sleep while taking the percocets. But when I do I also take Amibien to help me sleep.

I had and epidurial steroid injection the day before (Tuesday) the urine test and took no percocets from 2 days prior at noon.

How long does the percocet stay in your system?
How long does it take to show up on a urine test? If I too one at 6am and got urine tested at 1pm would it show?

I know, most people try to beat the test, I am trying to prove I take the stuff. Did I just happen to get the time right of almost 36 hours to get a negitive.

Thanks

What were they testing for (was it just a NIDA 5 opiate scan or were they testing specifically for oxycodone and it's metabolites)? The NIDA 5 standard drug screen only tests for the presence of morphine. Oxycodone does not metabolise into morphine (neither do hydrocodone or hydromorphone) and will not trigger a screen for opiates on a NIDA 5 standard test. Did the doc screen you or was it for work? If it was a screen for oxy and you still came up negative, that is quite a mystery, esp if you had been taking them regurlarly for any amount of time.

Please make sure the Pharmacy is dispensing the correct medication. Also, does anyone else have access to your pill bottle?

Default Negative results to percocet!!

Hi.. let me say that I too am in the same boat.. trying to prove that I am indeed taking the prescribed percocet. I have spinal stenosis along with a few other very painful ailments. The last few times that my doctor did a urine test, he said that I tested negative for the percocet. Impossible I say!! I know that I am taking the darn pills. He says my urine says NO! So someone please tell me how this is possible or impossible. The last time I went, I had a 1:30 PM appointment. I took two percocets at 8 AM and two more at noon.. but when he did the urine test that afternoon it was negative? I also took them the day before, the day before that, the day before that and so on and so on.. so someone tell me what is going on? I am not a good candidate for surgery so am on long term pain management. I guess I could live without the pain pills if I had too but it would incapacitate me to the point of staying in my wheelchair all the time. At least now I can use a walker and sometimes manage with just a cane.. funny isn't it that while others are trying to beat a drug test... some of us are trying so hard to prove we are taking the stuff....::
