Default Getting Off Soma any help ?

HI ,
I posted on here thinking i was suffering withdrawal symptoms from painkillers . I had been taking darvocet and ultram over the last 4-5 months. Usually like 4-5 days a week . I have taken Vicodin and Percoset over that time maybe once or twice , but certainly not enough to be addicted to it . I have been taking the muscle relaxer Soma almost daily . I have been able in the past to take painkillers for months and then stop for month with no symptoms that's why i found having withdrawal symptoms a little odd . I had them the last couple days when i did not take Soma . I took a couple Soma and all my symptoms went away very quickly . So i am guessing its probably the Soma that i am addicted to . I heard Soma detox is brutal and has some none to fun side effects and withdrawal symptoms . I am only really taking 3-4 daily . I know now from the past that i can cut out the pain killers completely , but i guess not the Soma . My question is if its really worth going through the brutal detox and all the withdrawal symptoms . From what i have read on Soma if you take it as prescribed 3-4 daily that its not that harmful for your body. I know vicodin and acetamitophen products hurt your liver in high doses . I have been taking Soma for over a year now and never took more then 4-5 in a day . They definitely help with pain and obviously give you a little buzz . What i am asking is truthfully is it worth getting off of it and suffering the detox if i can cut out the pain Killers and just take the Soma . I have not really read anything evidence wise that Soma hurts your body if taken in low doses.

I'm not really sure on what to tell you to do, and I probably shouldn't be replying but someone gave me Somas and what are they? and What do they do to you, like knock you on your butt or what? I thought it was some sort of sleeping pill. And I have to tell you, that you may think you can stop taking pain killers but, when you take them for a long peirod of time you will have withdrawal symptoms and it may be very hard to stop in the long run, Good Luck.

I have a friend who loves soma and would take 3-4 at a time at night. He was Rx'd 2 per day to help sleep so he would run out of them before the next refill. However, he never got sick but he also takes hydrocodone 70-80mgs/day and does other recreational drugs, with GHB being his favorite. He cant sleep very well without lots of soma or ghb. I dont know if the ghb is helping his body by preventing withdrawals but I do know that it does help with opiate withdrawals...it completely alleviates any withdrawals.
And for pain meds-- if you dont need them everyday, then why bother. Pain meds are used to prevent pain, not get rid of it. That is why people with chronic pain take them everyday. I assume that you would mix the 4-5 days/week between ultram & darvocet. Based on that assumption, would probably wouldnt get withdrawal. However, if you took ultram consistently or even darvocet, then you would get w/d. Be aware that ultram is physically addicting(and mentally for some) because I know first hand. I was extremely sick for a few days in a different way than opiate withdrawal.
