Default Fas

[?]I just found out this week I am expecting. My problem is up to monday I was a serious drinker, atleast 8 beers a day. I am also a 15 cigs a day new mom. I stopped drinking '4 days sober' I'm not looking for praise, but I do want to know if my baby can still be born with FAS. Fetal alcohol syndrome. I am trying real hard to quit smoking, I smoke only about 8 a day now. Please if any one can help please let me know.. I am 8 1/2 weeks along.. Thank you Ferret

You need to discuss this with your OB. Doctor. I have found that if there is any history of alcohol use even a little, there is a chance of FAS. The thing to do now is to focus on being healthy now and in the future for you and your baby. You cannot change the past but you can affect the future. You seem like you want to do what it takes to take care of yourself and your baby and that is a good start. Hang in there and see your DR.[:I]
