I was on
Effexor for 7-8 months. I did not gain weight on it, I lost weight during that time, but that was because I was do depressed, I wasn't eating. Here are the common side effects for Effexor. Half the time when you read these things, they say can cause constipation, diahrrea, then weight gain, weight loss. Take your pick. But with Effexor it sites weight loss, but not weight gain, so that is a good sign.

Yes, sweating can be a side effect of Effexor. I feel for you, I took a med with that side effect and I thought I was going through menopause. I would wake up in the night, drenched.
