Default Effexor XR

I just started on Effexor XR this morning. I will be also weaning off of Zoloft 200mg day at this time as well. I was just wondering how it worked for others and if there were any side effects involved.
I am also on klonopin .5mg 3x day, welbutrin 150mg 1xday and geodon
20 mg 2x day. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I too was weaned off Zoloft and put on Effexer and the only complication I had was weight gain. The effexor was a great drug for me; howerver, due to a previous back condition I could not afford the weight gain.

I have been on effexor xr 150, for about 8 yrs. The first few months I lost weight and felt so much better, as some time went on wellbutrin was added, then klonapin and so on....I will tell you, once you are on effexor for a time, you can not get off of it. After a couple of years I wanted to get off of it because it did not seem to work anymore and wanted to try something else. I have tried the ween off at least 4 times over the last 4 yrs and it is impossible!! I feel like an addict! It is so easy to get on, but you can't get off. thats when they started to add the others, now I have just tried again to get off effexor in March and forget it, the withdrawal is too bad! I feel like ******** all the time and just try to get through the day. Good luck.

Well thanks for your input. I have tried so many of these drugs and this is like the 4th or 5th one. I hope it works. But I will mention the issue about getting off of it and see what he says.
