Default Effexor withdrawl and side effects

I would like to know how many of you out there were given a full disclosure by your doctor prior to going on Effexor as to the terrible withdrawl side effects. My wife was not and I would like to hear from and know of others of the same situation with their doctors.

Effexor, like ANY drug, needs to be weaned off of slowly and under a doctors care.

Thanks, Kimberly

Effexor is a really good drug but it is very hard to get off. You have to wean yourself off it slowly. Be sure to talk to your doctor to help with this process. You can not simply stop taking it, it will make you very ill. Head spins nausea, alot of bad effects if you just stop taking it. Also, make sure you are coming off the drug for the right reasons not just because you feel so good you think you don't need it anymore. I made this mistake and went downhill very quickly and I am now back on them. Hope this helps your wife.
