Default Effexor

I am concerned if anyone has heard of antidepressants possibly inducing or worsening existing tic disorders. I started on Effexor a few weeks ago, whcih is supposed to also help anxieties, and my facial tics have seemed to worsen. I don't feel an increase of overall anxiety but the movements are worse. maybe it is not the best medication for me to combat this type of disorder. I appresciate any of your responses.

Be careful when quiting effexor.. it can have major withdrawl symptoms. Try to wean off. Effexor was not good for me either, in fact I think I felt worse. I don't have tics but depression was there. Prozac will help step you off easily if you decide to change. I hear great things about wellbutrin!
