My husband has been taking Effexor...he is trying to get off it alone..I need some input on how to help him and if somebody could help me with symptoms and time frames. This is very scary for both of us.

do NOT try to get of Effexor on your own. Antidepressants must be monitored carefully by a physician. From personal experience (and mistakes), coming off a psychoactive medication without doctor guidance can be a very awful experience...if not dangerous due to the increased risk of suicide. I implore you to not get off Effexor on your own...

I absolutely agree with you. Effexor withdrawal is not something to take on independantly, get a doctor who will supervise it closely and with caring.
