Default Effects of Vicodin abuse over time

I am wondering what type of physical problems one would have if they continued to abuse Vicodin and like pain killers over an extended period of time. I really would like some great and detailed information so i can show my boyfriend that he is ruining his body and maybe some advice and words from proffesional that know about these types of drugs can convince him more than I..thank you

I hope that your boyfriend sees before its to late that he is destroying his kidneys and liver. Medications are removed thru the body by means of the kidneys or liver. There are long term serious effects from the uses of these drugs.

Hi,

When I was taking Vicodin, it gave me horrific neuropathic pain all over my body. My body felt like it was ON FIRE all of the time.

It was awful. When the neurologist tried to give me anti-seizure meds for the neuropathic pain (traditional treatment for this kind of pain), they reacted with the Klonopin anti-seizure meds that I have taken for 15 years and I haven't been the same since. That was 7 months ago.

Then when his meds reacted with mine, he thought I was psychotic and gave me anti-psychotic meds which made me even worse!! Then he told me to go see a psychiatrist.

I'm sure you get the picture here. Tell your boyfriend not to take any chances. The narcotic he is taking may be working now, but it will have some serious consequences if he continues to take it in my opinion.

Ihope your boyfriend has listened to messages so far. I wanted to reply also my husband was on vicodin(hydrocodone) since March of this year and passed away in May due to pnemonia from taking them just that short time. It does give you the firey pain and it gets worse. It had my husband changing to a different person thathe didn't even like. It is not to late, get help to get off them slowly. God bless and hope this helps.
