Hello All,

I am 23 years old, female, 130 lbs. Knowing that information can anyone tell me how long the drug Valium (10 mg) will stay in my system? I had Lasik eye surgery about 6 days ago and they gave me the Valium to relax (as they do for all patients). I have not taken any since. I had to take a drug test for my new job and I have a doctor’s note stating that he gave me the drug under his care.... but I was just curious to know. I would rather not have to worry about proving my innocence to my employer since they will be directly receiving my results. However, I did give them the letter and the clinic has a copy too. Am I covered?

As long as you gave the people who do the test the note then your fine for that particular drug.Valium (diazepam) has a long half life and can be detected in the urine up to 6 weeks.I have seen people who have taken benzodiazepine for years and when they stopped the valium or xanax ect was dected after 2 months.This stuff can stick around for a long time.
I would think though that because you had one single dose that it would be gone from the urine within 5-7 days...Good luck.....Dave
