    Default Drug Interactions?

We live in SE Asia in a country where medical care is questionable. My son injured his leg in a football accident. A doctor has prescribed 3 medications for him 1) Mefenamic acid 500mg. 2) Piroxicam 20 mg. 3) Dexamethazon 0.5 mg. Should we be concerned about interactions between these drugs. Thanks in advance.

What I found was that there is an increased risk of GI bleeding, sodium/water retention, and edema(swelling). If you notice any unusual signs or symptoms in your son, contact your doctor right away. Hope this helps and that your son heals quickly!

yes they will work but have them together with food or milk. Instances of drowsiness may also occur.

Here is a link you can read that will give you some details about the potential interactions..

It seems the main interaction is the oral consumption of steroids and NSAIDS together can cause possible bleeding in the stomach or general gastrointestinal problems. Make sure you monitor him for stomach problems. God bless.

I am not a dr. My statements are based on years of experience and related education. Consult with the professional of your choice regarding matters of concern.
