Default dosage of medications

I have always had a very high tolerance to medications. especially to anti-depressants or sedatives. I'm very petite in size, so I always end up taking more than is prescribed then running out. This is not a case of abuse. In one instance, my therapist had prescribed a sleeping pill for me, it finally came down to the fact that the medication dosage he needed to write for me was equal to the amount for someone of at least double my weight. can you help me with this, please?

I can't speak for sleeping pills, but the dosage of anti-deprassants such as paxil, prozac, lexapro, etc, etc isn't determined by your weight. Paxil for example: Someone who is 350 lbs the recommened max dose is 60 mg a day... just as is for 100 lbs... or so my last psychiatrist told me.
People react differently to different meds... I know people who ativan does nothing for even in high doses, yet valium works great for them. For me valium doesn't do a thing, but ativan is good, and xanax is great.
