Default donnatal interaction

hi,i'm a well controlled epileptic.i've taken tegretol since 1990.i take 1000 mg.daily.i have chronic stomach pain-gastroenteritis,colitis,irritable bowel syndrome,i have the works!my the er doctor gave me a gi cocktail and it took the pain away immediately.my question is do i risk having seizures if i get a prescription for these monthly from my doctor-for instance-what if i quit taking them suddenly because i don't need them for a week.the mixture is maalox 30ml,donnatal 10ml,lidocaine viscous 5 ml.thanks,erclerk

Tegretol (carbamazepine) metabolism is increased by phenobarbital so theoretically taking phenobarbital (in Donnatal) at the same time as carbemazepine has the potential to reduce the plasma levels of carbamazepine.
The interaction is generally considered to be mild but if you are at all concerned, it is worth talking to your doctor.
