Default doctors

recently i ran out of percocets that i get every month for the past 4 years. im on dissability and anyway i ran out early and called the doctor and he said i had to wait until the regular time. well withdrawals set in so i asked the receptionist what i should do and she said i could go to the er so i did. now the doctor is saying he could call the authorities because that is doctor shopping. can he do that?? whats the deal ? Does anyone know what i should do?

Well, your doctor sounds like a bastard. If you did what the nurse specifically advised you to do, it won't hold up in a court of law, but get a different doctor anyway. What a creep.

And he's had you on them for FOUR YEARS? Then he should know, as a doctor, that if you've been taking the medicine regularly for that long and suddenly stopped then perhaps, maybe, in his doctorly knowledge, he may even slightly suspect that you may be having withdrawal symptoms? Uh-uh. No. Hows about you threaten to report your doctor to the authorities for malpractice? Neglect of a patient is a breach of his Hippocratic Oath. Not only does he suck, BIG TIME, but he breaks promises. F***.

what should i do ? Can he call the authorities and take me to jail just for going to the er because i ran out>?
