I would like to know if there is another medication similar to cophylac drops. Each ml of this aqueous solution contained:
10mg.(1%) normethadone hydrochloride
20mg.(2%) p-hydroxyephedrine hydrochloride
Cophylac Drops
antitussive
made by Hoechst Marion Roussel

They were given to suppress coughing enough so the patient could finally get
some sleep at night. The dose was 10 to 15 drops in some water of juice.
This drug did not cure the cough but it did make it possible to stop coughing enough so that the person could get some sleep. My husband used it numerous times in the past 15 years but now they no longer make it. Would anyone know if there is some other drug that he could use that would give him the same relief from nightime coughing?
During the day he used cough medicine given to him by our doctor but at night the doctor had him use the cophylac drops so he could sleep without coughing.
