does anyone know the normal doses for this drug and the milligrams? I got 2 mg dilaudid and didnt feel anything after taking two. What is the normal dose for someone thats been taking pain pills for years? Im normally on 100 mgs of morphine and perc 10s 3 a day on both. but i changed doctors and this dilaudid is not effecting me or helping my back in the least. ANYONE>???

If you were taking a 100mgs a day of morphine then by my conversion chart you should be around 20mgs a day.So are you taking 2mgs every 4hrs and if so then you are slightly underdosed and may want to try 3mgs every 4 hrs.The dilaudid pills can be broken in half safely.Good luck......Dave

no dave,. 100 mgs 3 times a day and percocet 3 times a day. So on the dilaudid should be 4 mgs every 4 hours or more?

Lydia, 2mg of hydromorphine (dilaudid) equals 10mg of morphine, dilaudid is 5x stronger, simple arithmetic makes your 100mg of morphine equal to 20mg of dilaudid.
If you take 100mg of morphine and 10mg of percocet every four hours you would need to take 24mg of dilaudid every 4 hours for the exact equivalency.
