Why is Novolog a better Diabetes choice than other diabetes drugs?

It isn't neccessarily a better choice, but it does allow for a more flexible option.
Since Novolog's onset is quick and duration short, it would be better pump insulin or if you need to get the blood sugar down fast. If you have a patient that has long term control issues, it's usually best to use Lantus and Novolog/Humalog to achieve desired blood glucose concentrations.
That's not to say that the old R, N, L, and U versions don't have a place though either.
The best insulin therapy is one that works and allows for your patient's best chance of complience.
