hi, im hoping by posting here i can get some help. for about a year now i have been suffering from chronic neck pain daily. i am 21, overweight but in otherwise good health. at first the pain was dull annoying pain but slowly became what i have now which is a sharp, very uncomfortable pain. every other week or so this pain is so bad that i will get a severe migraine which will incapactitate me for almost 24hours. during these migraines i am almost to a point where the only relief is to smash my head on the wall. i also vomit often during these migraines. i find myself having to "crack" my neck more often to get some short relief. i have tried changing my matress and pillow, no help. i have no insurence and have been to 4 doctors with less then satisfactory results.

doctor #1 - prescribed me allegra and ultracet. no relief
doctor #2 - suggested i only take advil
doctor #3- first visit after explaining severe pain i was prescribed ultracet and a muscle relxer which didnt work. on my second visit i explained to annother PA and was again prescribed ultracet and another
muscle relaxant. still no relief. I asked the doctor to prescribe me something stronger for the pain but insisted that anything stronger like codeine or vicodin is only for short term use for post op patients and accident victims. i was told to get an x-ray and then MAYBE i would be given something stronger. after taking my x-ray i called back i was told they only seen some "straightening" in my neck and in this is common in people who have suffered trauma like a car accident. The doctor seemed to not be willing to help and suggested i go see a specialist.

at this moment i cannot afford a specialist and i have been living with this pain for a year now. i need relief. i dont know if i am refused anything stronger due to me being young and them feeling like im only there for a fix but it is getting ridiculous, i have seen stronger medicines perscribed to people for far less severe problems and it bothers me that no one is taking the severity seriously. i am running out of patience and money. if there is any suggestions someone could make it would be greatly appreciated.
