I don't know about withdrawals but I do know that Darvocet is not as strong as percocet and does not work as well.

One day at a time....

it depends on the dose you take of each. if you take enough darvocet (equigesic dose)it should hold you. it is weaker though, and too much darvocet is not fun.

On the topic of too much darvocet, Could you elaborate on what you meant by not fun? I had a lil cocktail with some darvocet and valium, but at the same time i was taking some dayquil for a bad cold and got violently sick. Was this cuz i took to much darvocet, because I mixed it with valium (which ive done before), or the dayquil?

benzodiazapines (sp) and narcotics mixed together can be very dangerous. Both slow your respitory system, you fall asleep and stop breathing. As far as switching from percs to darvocet,if you don't maintain the level of opiates in your system then yes you will suffer withdrawls. One more thing, don't drink alchohol with propoxyohene(darvocet) it can have deadly consequnences......Dave

naproxsen is a anti-inflamatory(sp) and won't help much with withdrawl symptoms......Dave

my advice on withdrawal:

I've never been addicted to pain killers, but I have been thru benzodiazepine withdrawal. I found it useful to skip a day, take the next day, do it again, etc... while slowly reducing the amount I was taking. The symptoms aren't as severe cause you are slowly weaning yourself off, if you can't make a full day, try waiting until say 9 pm instead of 9 am to take it. If you have severe withdrawal, seeing a doctor is your best bet... you will wish you were dead (and I'm not kidding) but they will be of help to you.
