I want to know all of the side effects of this drug I want to know why kids abuse it I want to know if its because it is a substatute for those on probation I want to know if it comes up on a UA as any thing at all and I want to know whats being done to get it off the shelfs today.

i am only 14 but i have been taking corisidrin or dextramathoraphane(dxm) regularly for about three months. For me i had taken it before but never started regularly until i got on probation. As far as i know it does not show up on u.a's i have to get 5 every eight weeks and i have not failed one yet. There where a couple kids in my treatment center for it. It can be very addicting and when i used to take 10 pills i now take up to 35. As far as i know there is nothing being done to get it off the shelfs because of it's medical uses.

I only recently learned that kids were doing this stuff again...back in the late 80's is when we discovered that drinking a full bottle of robitussin DM would give you a high something like being drunk and on an acid trip at the same time. Some of the bad side effects I found out later is that it can cause liver damage and I would imagine that it isn't very healthy for the ol brain cells either. Dextromethorphine Hydrobromide (sp?) is almost identical to codeine on a molecular level with only a slight change in structure, but I have never heard of it being addictive. As far as having it taken off the shelves, I believe that some stores try to keep it behind the counter or under locked glass displays. I don't believe it will become "prescription only" any time soon as most of your common variety cold and cough medications contain DM as well which would make it quite inconvienient to John Q. Public during cold season.

i just wanted to give you a list of side effects i encountered when i did dxm. first off, i did the straight powder form. pure, 100% dextromethorphine hydrobromide. the first time i tried it, i was given too much (about a tablespoon full), and about an hour after consumption, i was vomiting all night. my body lost its concept of balance for several days, i couldn't sleep at night because i was seeing psychadelic images everytime i closed my eyes. but i was able to get a lot of homework done in record time. it was like pressing the fast-forward button.
i didn't do much after that. but my ex-husband did it semi-daily for years, and he was pretty much insane. i'm not exaggerating. i was told he was institutionalized, recently. this stuff is probably one of the most addictive drugs out there. and when it stops satisfying the common user, the user winds up craving acid and cocain. i've watched people with dxm addictions, and it's not pretty. i have no idea how one would help someone who's addicted, because i gave up.

I know a couple of guys that do this, they steal them from Walmart, or just convienence stores that sell it. They usually steal a couple of boxes at a time figuring that each person using it usually takes a full box. What I've heard from them, and what I've seen on the internet, is that they aren't themselves while on this drug. They are very promiscuous, and barely coherent. Some people get really sick and they end up in the emergency room, some people wig out, some people hurt themselves and dont realize it, some pass out, and for some it just gives them a big high. According to the website that I say there are different phases or levels to this drug. By that I mean the level of how badly they trip. but of course with every drug in the world if effects every person differently. And like other people have said before the reason it isnt taken off the shelf is that not everybody abuses it, or even knows that this drug can be used for these purposes. Just like products used to make meth, those ingredients are in stores everywhere. As to long term side effects of this drug, I have no idea, I would highly recommend talking to a physician, or browsing the internet. I mean, there are sites all over that tell you all about this drug, even hints on how to use it successfully

I did triple c one day because me and my friend were going to get shrooms but it fell through and i really wanted to trip and i heard you can trip on them. Well i took eleven at once and within an hour i started feeling it. I had trouble walking and it basicly felt like i was leaned up. It stuck with me for like three days and i went to a specialist to see whats up. They said there are 2 other ingredients in triple c along with the dxm that can seriously hurt you and can easily be oded on. If u need to dxm trip do it with the powder or the Maximum Strength Robitussin. It takes 300mg of dxm to trip.

i did triple c's for the first time about a year ago and i'm still doing it today. i took 16 the first time and i didn't throw up. i was sitting on my friends bed and noticed that everything had trails. i looked up at my friend and he was trippin worse than me (he took 32). we went outside and i noticed that there was three of everything. the next thing i knew my friend was on the ground telling me that there were waves moving underneath him. we walked downtown and went into a furniture store(i don't know why). we sat in the very back in two chairs for an hour before the manager asked if we needed help. i tried to make up an excuse to not look suspicious but i was talking like a retard. we left the store and tried to cross a really busy street. my friend said there was only one car coming, but i thought there were five sets of headlights. we went back to the house and i had to go to the bathroom. i couldn't take a piss because i forgt how to cntrol myself. it was the craziest **** i had ever done at the time. it was a pretty cool trip and like i said i'm still doing it today.keep trippin... for now.
