Default Codeine withdrawal and restless legs

Hi all,

I'm slowly reducing my codeine intake after years of addiction and I'm doing pretty well. The only thing that really worries me is the return of the dreaded insomnia and restless legs that I've had in the past when I've tried to quit. I know that if I could just get past that point then I'd be fine.

Does anyone have any good advice or tips for overcoming the insomnia and restless legs? Does anyone have any experience of this and know how long it lasts?

Thanks
Mungo

That is a major problem for me too. I recently got some trazadone to help me sleep. I haven't used it yet, as I am waiting until I quit suboxone and really need it. I know 50mg trazadone can help you sleep, and is non addictive. For me taking tylanol PM makes my restless legs and arms way worse at night, so I do not take it. Melatonin helps me sleep also. The more excercise you do, the quicker it will pass. Eat good, lots of water, and vitamins, and as much excercise as you can do.
