Is there a medication to lower your cholesterol that does not harm your liver?

Some drs prescribe zetia for cholesterol. It is not a statin but it suppose to lower your cholesterol by working in the stomach. i didn't like the zetia due to back ache and other side effects. I lowered my cholesterol using artichoke extract, minute maid oj cholesterol reducer, take control and high fiber.
