Question Can You Take???

Hello, Can anyone answer this question? Can I take Suboxone and Chantix at the same time. Because I would like to stop smoking just as bad as I would want to stop taking pain killers. So please be happy with me everyone because trying to stop 2 powerful drugs is really hard. Because I am on both, Suboxone and Chantix and I think the Chatix is messing with the Suboxone. My stomach hurts sometimes and I feel like to throw up. I have been taking Suboxone for a month now and I just started Chantix a day ago. So please let me know what you think?

Thanks

That could be a side effect of the Chantix, as stomach probs are a known side effect of the drug.
There's no know interactions running the two through the drug interaction checker.

Thank you for your help. I didnt see that there was a drug interater on this website. I looked it up and you are right there isnt anything there that says that you cant use them both. And I think it is the chantix messing with my stumach. But I would like to say that I have been smoking for 15 years and im on my second day of chantix and I hate the smell of the cigs. and taste of them. If anyone that reads this that smokes please give a try. Youll feel alot better about your self. And save $$$$$.

Thanks For reading.

It is extremely important that you eat when you take your Chantix otherwise it will upset your stomasch terribly.I'm on it too and made the mistake of taking it without eating.Let me tell you,I went as white as a ghost and I was very nauseated. It last about an hour so make sure you eat before taking it.
Also I asked the pharmacist about taking the two together (suboxone and chantix) and he said there was no problem at all but he again stressed to eat before taking the Chantix.Good luck.......Dave

I just started takeing Chantix yesterday and Have been on Suboxone since July of last year. It is very safe to take both meds together! However in my research it has seemed that the side effect of nausia is more intensifed and much more dangerous with suboxone users. Make sure your suboxone is completly absorbed in your system pror to taking your dose of chantix. In otherwords don't take your chantix then a take your suboxone, you may end up vomiting and losing a dose of your suboxone, and if you don't have any extra doses this could be a big problem as you could have to miss your dose and possibly risk withdrawl symptoms. Luckily I am only on 2mg and so far today have been OK since I threw up this morrning! I didn't want to take another dose because I wasn't sure how much if any got into my system! Good luck to you all in your journey to sobriety! God bless

Default suboxone chantix

You tell about throwing up, but you donot swallow suboxone but take it under your tong otherwise it won't work.

So it doesn''t matter what to take first.

Yes you take suboxone sublingually under the tongue but some of it's going down your throat, common sense tells you that. You DON'T spit it out. But personally if taking the two together made me puke I would surely space them apart as far as I could. Both habits are pretty disgusting, it's certainly worth trying to work this out to your advantage.

There aren't any serious side effects using the two drugs together that are public knowledge. As crummy of a habit as cigarettes are I would stick it out unless it somehow compromised my recovery getting off the RX painkillers. Good luck. Cigarettes suck. God bless.

There is no drug interaction between Chantix and Suboxone directly. Best of luck to you!! Keep fighting through the withdrawal symptoms and you will be glad you did!!
