Default can I switch back to methadone from suboxone

I was in methadone treatment for 3 yrs. 20mg, for vicodin dependency.
Methadone changed my life but decided I wanted out of the clinic life.
I switched from methadone to suboxone 5 weeks ago and I'm still having a hard time. In fact, I'm feeling worse each day.
I've discussed this with my sub doctor, and he seems to think I can't take suboxone. I am constantly achey, mo matter what dose I take, feeling very depressed and anxious, (which methadone helped me with)
headaches, nausea, low low energy, itchy, etc..
I am seriously thinking about going back on a low dose of methadone 5 to 10mg, however I'm scared to go back to the methadone not knowing what will happen to me. Can I switch back to methadone? Has anyone experienced switching back to methadone after suboxone didn't work?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou,
Suri
