Question Can a GP prescibe suboxtex?

Do they have to take a course like the doc's who prescibe suboxone? I can't find a doc close to me that prescibes the suboxone, so i am looking for a doctor who can prescibe the suboxtex

The requirements are the same for drs to be able to write prescriptions for either medication. Did you check the distance to a dr on www.suboxone.com to see who is the closest? God bless.

Thanks Robert and yes i did, the closesone is around 50 miles one way, I have called a lot of doctors and i get the voicemail or the phone rings and rings no one picks up. I did get an email from one doctor but i could not afford his price i dont have an extra 500 dollars a month. any suggestions? I am registerd on NNABT that is where the email from the doctor came from I started taking methadon to come off of hydro, i was taking 180 pills at 10mgs within 2 weeks, also took xanax, valuim, and somas. It has been 20 days since i took any of the above, and i am only taking 2.5mgs of methadon daily sometimes i do take 5mgs,only when i am feeling like i have w/ds i have been taking the methadon for 20 days i feel like i am getting no where on the methadon, i have taken suboxone in the past if i could get someone on the phone and get an appointment i know the suboxone would get me off of the methadon, and then i could taper myself off of the suboxone i did it before and reading about other people coming clean i know that i can too, with the support from people on here.

diane .... I would call all the drs and even if it's 50 miles ask yourself this question ..... If you were in BAD opiate w/d and had to drive an hour to score some pills would you do it? Of course you would. I've bought airplane tickets in the past to go score a bunch of pills for my stash.

We have to be willing to do as much to get cleaned up as we were willing to do to get high. Not being a wise guy but that analogy pretty much tells the story. The drs charges will vary a lot as there are some bandits out there when it comes to what they charge. Call every one of them if you have to. This is your life we're talking about. What is more important than that? I'm here to help you any way that I can, but the dr charges and distances to the drs are out of my control or yours.

You've got to be willing to do WHATEVER IT TAKES! You only have to do this ONE TIME if you do it right, then we can change your life forever. That's a pretty good deal no matter what the hassle involved. Let me know how I can help you. God bless.

PS ... remember that these drs will be planning on this taking you a long time. If you work with me like I instruct you to do you won't need near as many sub pills as the drs might make you think it will take. Just focus on getting the meds for now. They don't need to hear about me or what we are doing. Just get your meds. One trip a month isn't that big of a catastrophe if we can get you clean in a reasonable amount of time.

Some will and some won't. Usually the ones who won't accept your insurance, if it's legitimate insurance, are just over-charging you what is allowable and they know they have you over a barrel.

They are trying to scam you for as much money as they can get from you as they know you're suffering from a dependency problem and they're taking advantage of you.

There are some good drs out there too that will accept your insurance. Those are usually the legitimate quality drs. That has to make sense to you. God bless.
