Hi,
I have been taking a daily one tablet named "finax 1mg" ( finasteride)since last 7/8 months for my hair loss. I got married before six months. There is no family planning. May these tablets cause birth defects in an unborn baby ? Is there a side effect of this tablet of less sex desire? pl tell me. you may also mail me :

Finasteride is excreted in semen and use of a condom is recommeneded if your partner is pregnant or likely to become pregnant (as in your case because there was no family planning before) because it may cause feminisation of male fetus.

And yes, one of the side effects of this drug is decreased sex drive, but it should not be a problem after the treatment course.

sorry that i didn't explain that clearly, feminisation of male fetus means decreased development or expression of male sex features & increased development of female sex features
