Default burning in legs

I'm on so many drugs for high blood pressure, I'm not sure which if any are responsible for my delima. I sometime feel like my legs are on fire. They turn bright red and swell. I'm on: Benicar HCT 40mg 1x, Toprol 50mg 2x, Nifidical XL 60mg 2x and a 24/7 Catapres patch.
Last night I had to sit with my legs in cold water to stop the burning. I have read all the drug interactions and none of them seem to have this side effect. I don't think my doctor cares about the side effect as long as I have low blood pressure. Any suggestions?

Linda

The side effect of toprol is a feeling of cold extremeties. With the Catapres patch there is a side effect of a burning sensation. I think you spelled the other two meds wrong because they were not found in my drug book. If you find to have pain and swelling in your legs I would definatly see your md Asap. You may have a DVT or blood clot. This was also a side effect of both meds. A leg that is warm to touch, with pain in the calf, and swelling are the classic signs of a DVT. Try keeping your feet elevated on some pillows it may help. Hope this info is helpful for you

Nifedical™ XL is a generic version of Procardia XL® Tablets (nifedipine extended-release tablets)
Benicar HCT contains olmesartan and hydrochlorothiazide.

You will find Consumer Information on these drugs at

I agree you should speak to your doctor.
