A little over a year ago I developed uterine tumors & abnormal tissue growth between some of my internal organs. I underwent a 4 hour surgery to correct the problem but the tumors began regrowth within 2 weeks. My Doc tried numerous tablet forms of tumor suppressive meds to no avail. Reluctantly, we decided to use Lupron injection therapy. The shots worked for awhile but the side effects were so severe that I had to stop midcourse. Migranes, severe joint pain, abdominal pain, elevated cholesterol... worst of all, I gained nearly 60 lbs in 4 months eating almost nothing!!! I have always been a small person, never had to diet, & now, a friend who happens to be a pharmasist told me that in about 25% of patients, the weight NEVER come off. I am getting better but no matter how little I eat or how much exercise I get I've only managed to lose 15 lbs in 6 months. I also continue to have joint & abdominal pain so I can't be as active as I would like or used to be. I used to jog, play racket ball & even learned how to surf at 40 yrs old on the pacific coast of Mexico. If I had known that this would happen to me as a result of being injected with this drug I would have declined. I want my old life back. I want to wear some of my old, favorite clothes again. I want to be able to jog & play frisbee with my dog for more than 15 minutes!!! I had 4 more tumors removed a few months ago. I hate to say it, but many nights I pray that I won't wake up the next day. My advice... DON'T TAKE LUPRON!!!
