Default benzos and anxiety

I have some anxiety problems and really bad insomnia (had it since I was a kid), and I've been on buspar for the anxiety for almost a year and it doesn't work and have tried ALOT of sleeping meds...Would a psychiatrist perscribe a benzo? I know they're rarely used now, but I know they would solve both the insomnia and anxiety. I tried using them recreationally(once xanax, once klonopin) before but all they did was make me almost fall asleep, So I don't really get why people use them recreationally..I've had a alcohol problem in the past and I smoke weed occasionally(It helps the anxiety, but I only use it on occasion, usually when a friend shares)..I'm going to my psychiatrist later this week and asking her about it.

Default Be Careful

Hey, Yes benzos do help with anxiety and sleep....but be careful, benzos are highly addictive and you do not want to get addicted to them...trust me. Make sure you take as many as the doctor says you should have and trust yourself to know if you have a problem.
