Default Avinza making me itch

I've been taking this stuff for about 2 weeks & all of a sudden I'm itching like crazy when before I never had a problem w/ anything. Could it be mixing it w/ norco's causing me to itch?? I have been taking benadryl w/ it & it helps but should I tell my doctor about me itching to get something else??? He was between this stuff & MS Contin so any info would be appreciated.. The avinza is helping w/ my pain but I cant deal w/ the itching - how does the MS Contin compare in strength mg / mg???
Thanks

I was on MS Contin, all it is Morphine, so is Avinza. My neighbor takes Avinza for back pain, she told me that is what it is, and my Doc confirmed. You may be on to high a dose, ask your Doctor about it, see what they say. Either way talk to your Dr. let them know what is happening, and make sure to tell them all the Meds u are on. They have lots of patients and can't always remember everyones' meds. I hope this helps. I've been suffering w/chronic pain for years so I understand how you feel. Morphine made me itch, or didn't work it was very frustrating. Good Luck.

All opiates cause you to release histamines so what you need to do is go to the pharmacy and ask for long acting anti-histamines.This will stop the itching......Dave

Default Why w/ this stuff???

Over the past 6 yrs I've been on many different forms from MS - all the oxy's - hyydro's ----- etc....
Now taking only 30mgs of Avinza & 3 , 10mg Norco's a day I've started itching like crazy. Itching from head to toe until I take the benadryl & then I'm fine. I was just wondering if this stuff might have a filler or something I could be allergic to since I've never had this problem w/ any of the other forms.
Thanks for the responses

Morphine is roughly 40% stronger mg/mg then hydrocodone.
I really doubt it is a filler causing the itch.
