I am 17 weeks pregnant now, when I was at 3-4 weeks pregnant i was prescribe with avelox for a flu, not knowing I was pregnant at time. I am very worried that it would affect my baby. Can anyone please advice? I am really very worried..

Well first of all, an antibiotic should not be taken just because you have the flu, and you should seriously question any doc who prescribes antibiotics for anything other than an infection of some sort, this one is mainly used for respiratory infections. By using it for things such as the cold or flu, we create even more antibiotic resistant strains and you could find your body immune to this drug at a time in the future when you really need it.
