avandia side effects

Hi could anyone tell me how long it usually takes for the side effects of this pill takes my mom has been on this drug for a year and is now anemic, fluid retention, tired she fits into the side effects of this drug but we wonder if her anemia is from this med. after a year of use or could it be something else? Any info would be greatly appreciated\. Thanks
