Default Ativan with Imipramine

I take 1mg Ativan late in the evening and have now been prescribed Imipramine which the doctor told me to take before I go to bed. I did a check and there is a drug-drug interaction between the two meds so I was wondering how much time should there be between taking the meds?

Thanks

Hi Karen ... a possible interaction that could result in respiratory depression should not be ignored obviously. Its good that you checked that. The main thing about these possible interactions is being aware of them. They aren't always certain doom for us if we take the meds together. It depends on our health, why the dr RX the medication, lots of things.

I don't know your health history except for what you have shared on the forum here. You can share more if you think there is something that you should mention. I would not want to say how long if any time at all you should seperate the doses based on what we know now. That would have to come from your dr. I would be aware of the potential interaction but wouldn't be upset about it unless the dr told me I had a reason to be. Sorry I couldn't help more. Good luck and God bless.
