Default Asking again in a different forum

Who, out there in the medical profession, can give me an honest opinion of this medication regimen. I don't have all the dosages listed and probably should obtain them, but just for starters let's look at a patient who is diabetic, suffers from high blood pressure and since being on blood pressure medication began suffering from sever insomnia which (I believe) led to the onset of anxiety and panic attacks. Presently the person is taking the following...

(for the record I already anticipate anyone in the medical profession to be reluctant to respond or extremely vague in any opinions of the following combination of medications)

Diabetes Med:
Metformin 1000mg
Glimepiride 4mg
Levemir 80 units

Blood Pressure Med:
Atenolol 100mg
Enalapril 20mg
Hydrochlorot 25mg
Amlodipine 5mg
Doxazosin 1mg
Spironolactone (diuretic) 25mg

Heart Rhythm:
Flecainide 25mg

Cholesterol Med:
Lovastatin 40mg

SSRI (depression, anxiety):
Parxotine 20mg

Antipsychotic:
Zyprexa 5mg (to aid in sleep)

Sleep Med:
Ambien
Temazepam 30mg
Tylenol pm

Stomach acid:
Omeprazole 20mg

Joe .... this is the exact same question you asked four days ago. Did you check on the "interactions checker" at the top of this page as I suggested? All of your meds can be found there.

We don't keep drs on staff here to answer prescription questions. The links that are available as I've previously suggested for you are the next best thing you're going to get here. You won't get a real live dr anywhere online that is legitimate to give you a professional opinion on all of these meds without knowing your medical records in detail. If I was taking all those meds I wouldn't trust anyone's opinion online anyway.

Doing the drug interactions checker is the most professional opinion you're going to get online. If you do as I suggested you'll be surprised at how much information you'll actually receive. The interactions checker is a very useful tool for this sort of thing. But that's the best that you'll find here. God bless.

To be clear, yes, this is the exact same question asked four days ago, but, in a different forum. You may recall I asked it once in the "Pharmacists" forum and now I'm asking it in the "Drug Information" forum; I did this on the assumption that not everyone reads every topic.

I appreciated your answer to my post and thank you for your insight. I had already checked the drug interaction tool on this site prior to my post and was looking for some personal experiences. IE: someone might reply that they have taken this combination of drugs or some variation and might offer some advice or caution etc. I suppose I should have made it clear that I'd like to hear from anyone; not just medical professionals (I think I was just crossing my fingers hoping a real doctor would respond).

So, to rephrase my question; is it typical to take this much medication for high blood pressure and diabetes? Is there anyone else out there taking this much medication? If so, is it working? Do you feel better? Do people usually have to take this many pills for high blood pressure?

Joe

You're taking a major cocktail of meds, I'd be very surprised if anyone on this site takes this combo. There's just way too many factors involved to hazard an educated guess, and there's so many other things to take into account, like age, weight, diet, hx, etc.
Sorry, don't expect an answer.
