Default Amide question - funny taste

My mother has had a persription for Accuretic and was fine with it and feels that she was newly perscribed a "bad" generic kind, Amide. The reason she thinks this is because the Amide (visually, the same as Accuretic, except the pill is darker in color and looks to be coated) leaves a horrible taste in her mouth all day. Any reason this might be?

I don't know much about this kind of thing, but offered to ask. She does have several kinds of allergies.
