Default After xanax

Does anyone know, when yhou finally break a regular long term xanax habit, In my case just for as a sleeping pill, and if your prescribed a benzo for a surgery or emergency in the future, does it bring back the addiction at the same level like alcohol will?

I have been addicted to xanax, and lorazepam (ativan) and several otyher drugs, I can only speak for myself, but I know that if I've gone a long time without the use of any benzo's and then decide to them once or twice, it does not bring back the addiction full force, it takes time to become dependant on something, just as it takes time to break the addiction. It's probably something that I would try to avoid if at all possible though. Good Luck.

i agree it will not bring it back emediatly - at the same time however if you have an extremly addictive personality you are more likely to crave that initial feeling again. i am one of those people so i have to be very careful what i take and do not take. Some people if you have a high tolerance for pain simply take tylanol- or ibuprofin --- (whatever) lol --- i have also in the past asked my pharmicist to only fill 1/2 of a RX. Just to be on the safe side....
