Activella prescribed and does not work

I hope someone can help me. My Dr prescribed Activella for my hormone therapy. I am crankier and no patience etc than ever. I had a total hysterectomy .. maybe I am taking the wrong hormone? On the internet it says this medication is helpful for PMS and Menopause. I don't have either because of the hysterectomy. Anyone please send me suggestions.
