a cold water extraction simply involves crushing pills that contain both tylenol and opiates (vicodin, percs, tylenol 3 etc) into a glass of cold water. Opiates are quite water soliuble and will quickly disolve into the water, while most of the apap will precipitate out and selltle to the bottom. Just drink the water and leave the bitter sludge at the bottom, and you will have drasticly reduced (but not totally eliminated, apap is somewhat water soluable, and the longer you let it sit the more it will disolve) your consumption of apap, without significantly reducing the dose of opiates. The effects may come on faster as well, as the pills are already dissolved and will be more easily absorbed into your bloodstream. check out the opiate vaults at www.erowid.org
