natures antidepresant?

does anyone know of a supplement that works as a mild antidepresant. i take pain medicine for chronic pain, and over the holidays i got a little down. i dont want a prescription, just maybe a herbal remedy.

I have heard that St.Johns Wort is a natural mood elevator.

St. Johns Wort is used widely in Europe. Current data suggests some benefit altough no real evidence exists to say it will work for sure. It does interact with other medications because the way it is metabolized in the liver. Not to dis-credit anyone but I would not suggest the use of the other herbs listed(kava valerian etc)
