Diabetes and Cinnamon I have been using Cinnamon to control Type II Diabetes for a while. My physician was quite skeptical, but willing to hear about my venture. He asked that I continue checking my blood sugar levels and come back in 3 months for a blood test in the lab. He found, to his amazement and mine, my blood sugar levels were down in a normal range and the cinnamon really is working for me. Please, can anyone explain why cinnamon is not recommended before drugs? Every morning I toast 2 pieces of whole wheat / raisin bread, butter it, sprinkle cinnamon on it, cover it with honey (a natural anti-bacterial) and what a wonderful treat!
Thank you,

Hi Rick
This article from newscientist.com may be of interest [8D] http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99994413 Just half a teaspoon of cinnamon a day significantly reduces blood sugar levels in diabetics, a new study has found. The effect, which can be produced even by soaking a cinnamon stick your tea, could also benefit millions of non-diabetics who have blood sugar problem but are unaware of it. -
I've also used cinnamon for a yr or two. It taste good and is good for you. I am diabetic as well and my glucose levels are coming down. They were high due to hctz bp med i was taking.
