I took
lexapro 20mg for several months, and experienced the same withdrawl symptoms when I stopped taking it "cold turkey." I'm sure this is why doctors advise to slowly reduce your intake over the period of a couple of weeks. I was having insomnia and a lot of anxiety, but it went away after two weeks or so. Just tell her to stick it out, and talk to a therapist, it's very liberating to get through it.
